Karol Steckiewicz and Adrian Perdyan, 6th year medicine students at the MUG have received a Minister of Health scholarship for significant scientifical achievements connected with studies. In total there were 46 such scholarships awarded for scientifical achievements and 1 for sport achievements. Both laureates representing our University are multi-times various prizes winners. Moreover, Karol Steckiewicz as the first person in our University and third in Poland obtained a doctoral degree before graduation.
- My scientific interests are focused on nanomedicine with particular reference to potential usage of nanoparticles in clinical practice – explains Karol Steckiewicz. – I’m interested in the effect of nanoparticles functionalization on their biological properties and usage of precious metals’ nanoparticles as vectors for antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory drugs.
- I’m 6th year medicine student. My scientific interests are mainly focused on the oncology – says Adrian Perdyan. – I carry out a social activity towards oncological patients as a volunteer of Polish League Against Cancer. Moreover, I chair the Student Scientific Circle operating at the Department of Oncology & Radiotherapy of the MUG. I’m also member of the IFMSA-Poland in which I’m a national coordinator in the field of clinical practices for leaving students.
Minister of Health scholarship for significant scientifical achievements can be obtained i.e. by authors and co-authors of scientific articles, chapters of monographs and lectures presented during scientific conferences. Students of first and second degree as well as unified master’s degree studies shall be entitled to this scholarship. The request may be submitted by the rector of given university.
