Medical University of Gdańsk participates in ACE²-EU BIP in Portugal: panel on the future of education and work dignity with GenAI

From 23rd–27th June 2025, the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) entitled Work Dignity with GenAI for Students and Staff is taking place in Santarém, Portugal, under the auspices of the ACE²-EU alliance. The programme focuses on the role of artificial intelligence, work ethics, and the future of digital competencies in European higher education. On the first day of the event, during the online panel Inspirational Talks | Share Your Success and Engage Dialogue with Students and Staff, rectors of partner universities from the ACE²-EU alliance participated in a discussion. Prof. Michał Markuszewski, Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk, presented to the international academic community the research conducted by Maciej Bobowicz, M.D., Ph.D. from the 2nd Department of Radiology at the MUG, as well as the activities of the Interdisciplinary Pomeranian Centre for Digital Medicine (IP_CMC). These initiatives support the development of innovative forms of clinical communication and medical education at the Medical University of Gdańsk.

Participation in the ACE²-EU BIP provides the University not only with an opportunity to showcase its scientific achievements, but also to foster partnerships and contribute to the co-creation of European standards in the ethical application of artificial intelligence and the dignity of work within academic environments.

Work Dignity with GenAI for Students and Staff is an intensive, week-long educational programme in Portugal (23rd–27th June 2025), organised by the ACE²-EU university alliance. Its objective is to advance skills in digital communication, AI ethics, inclusivity, and a culture of innovation among university students and staff. Participants engage in workshops, team-based projects, and expert-led sessions, using technologies such as holography to explore the concept of work dignity in the context of AI. The programme integrates learning, practice, and cross-sectoral exchange to support the development of future-oriented competencies and enhance European competitiveness.
