The Medical University of Gdańsk (MUG) has once again been ranked among the leading academic institutions in Poland in the 2025 edition of the Perspektywy University Ranking. Our University has retained its position as the top medical university in the country and placed 12th overall in the national ranking. The prestigious first place among medical universities is shared with the Medical University of Łódź and the Medical University of Białystok.
MUG also achieved strong results in the 2025 subject-specific rankings. The University ranked 2nd in pharmacy (up from 3rd place last year), 4th in medicine (up from 5th), 3rd in public health (up from 7th), and 5th in medical analytics (up from 7th). The Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG&MUG secured 3rd place, thus maintaining a podium position for another consecutive year. The biotechnology programme offered at this faculty was rated the highest among all programmes at the University of Gdańsk and is also among the highest-rated programmes at the Medical University of Gdańsk.

This is evidenced by our experienced and reputable research teams, a growing number of prestigious international publications and research grants, as well as the broad scope and high quality of research conducted at the University. We are expanding our international collaboration in both research and education. The Perspektywy 2025 University Ranking includes Polish academic institutions that are authorised to confer doctoral degrees in at least one academic discipline and have a minimum of 300 full-time students. Only universities with at least two graduating cohorts were considered in the ranking.
