Long live science! The university parade

The official inauguration of the 2025/2026 academic year, marked by the annual university parade organizsd by the Fahrenheit Union of Universities and the City of Gdańsk, will take place on 4th October 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

As per tradition, students, academic staff, the authorities of Pomeranian universities, as well as representatives of local government will jointly commence the new academic year with a ceremonial and colourful procession along the Royal Route.

Following the march along the Royal Route, the official part of the event will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Neptune fountain.

The parade symbolizes integration and the celebration of shared values and goals for science and higher education in our region. The festivities will be accompanied by the sound of carillons playing Gaudeamus igitur, performances by the Gdańsk Academic Orchestra, stilt walkers, jugglers, unicyclists and circus artists.
