Foreign Languages Day 2025

For the first time, the Department of Foreign Languages organised an event which brought together students of all the languages taught at our university. The event was officially opened by Prof. Michał Hoffmann, Vice-Rector for Clinical Affairs, who emphasised the importance of university-wide initiatives which foster integration and expressed appreciation for the efforts of both students and staff of the Department— especially in the run-up to the exam period.

The event’s programme included:
– an interactive quiz on world languages and cultures, – a flamenco dance performance by Luiza Romanowska and the group Los Mariscos, – a live report from Milena Prokopiuk currently on Erasmus in Córdoba, Spain, – a presentation by Michał Brancewicz sharing his experience from an Erasmus exchange in Germany.

The event also featured the announcement of the results of the MUG Sings competition. This year’s winners were:

– 1st place – Aleksandra Kałdowska (2nd year medical student),
– 2nd place – Barbara Beliniak (2nd year medical analytics student),
– 3rd place – Julia Orłowska (3rd year physiotherapy student).

The audience had the chance to enjoy several live performances from the competition. Attendees were also treated to refreshments, including Spanish tapas and freshly made French crêpes, prepared by students during the event. The event was coordinated by: Anna Kuciejczyk, Ph.D. (Head of the Department of Foreign Languages) and senior lecturers Bożena Jakimczyk and Magda Warzocha.
