Research seminar "…where discovery science meets clinical medicine"

The next scientific seminar of the …where discovery science meets clinical medicine series will take place on 28th May 2025 at 2:30 p.m. in the Prof. Zdzisław Kieturakis Auditorium at the Invasive Medicine Centre UCC.


The guests at the May meeting will be Sinéad A. O’Sullivan, Ph.D., Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow AG Di Monte and Dr. Róisín McManus, Head Translational Neuroimmunology Research Group German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) within the Helmholtz Association. The speakers represent German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE), Bonn. The topic will be Neurodegenerative Mechanisms Across Disorders: Modifiers of Protein Misfolding in Parkinson’s Disease and Microglial NLRP3 Activation in Alzheimer’s Disease.


The seminar will be conducted in English. After the meeting, the organisers invite you for refreshments – this will pose a great opportunity to network with researchers interested in collaboration.


Dr. Habil. Aleksandra Rutkowska from Division of Anatomy and Neurobiology is the meetings’ initiator. Just like in the case of previous seminar, the event will be hosted by Prof. Krzysztof Narkiewicz, Head of the Department of Hypertension and Diabetology at the MUG.
