ACE²-EU Conference – Challenges and Opportunities

Synergy of NAWA project activities and exchange of experiences in managing European university alliances

From 14 – 16 May 2025, the Medical University of Gdańsk will host an international conference for representatives of the ACE²-EU Alliance. The event is dedicated to fostering synergy between the activities of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) and the initiatives carried out within the ACE²-EU Alliance, as well as to plan future joint projects. It will also be an opportunity to present the ACE²-EU partner institutions to the broader academic community of the Medical University of Gdańsk and invited guests from the member universities of the Daniel Fahrenheit Association of Universities.

One of the main goals of the conference is to create a space for the exchange of experiences related to managing European university alliances. In this context, representatives of the University of Gdańsk (a member of the SEA-EU Alliance) and the Gdańsk University of Technology (a member of the ENHANCE Alliance) have been invited to participate. Their expert contributions will enrich the discussions and help to develop best practices in international project management. The conference will also serve as a platform for official meetings of the ACE²-EU Alliance Management Board, which will convene to approve key project activities and update the implementation schedule.

Conference Participants:
  • Members of the ACE²-EU Alliance Management Board
  • Representatives of partner universities’ authorities and the Medical University of Gdańsk
  • Staff from academic and administrative units involved in the project
  • Researchers, doctoral students, and students from the Medical University of Gdańsk
  • Representatives of SEA-EU and ENHANCE Alliances

Strategic Goals of the Conference:
The event aims to raise awareness within the local, national, and international academic communities about the ACE²-EU Alliance and the involvement of the Medical University of Gdańsk in this initiative.
Furthermore, the conference supports the long-term goal of building a strong administrative cooperation network between the Medical University of Gdańsk and its partner institutions through shared training initiatives and academic mobility.
The integration of the MUG community with representatives of partner institutions, increased awareness among staff about mobility and exchange opportunities, and the exchange of experiences in managing alliance projects within the Daniel Fahrenheit Association of Universities will be key elements in strengthening institutional capacity in the field of international academic collaboration.
