‘Celebrating CURE–iosities – 30 years of Transformative Science’, this was the theme of the 30th International Student Scientific Conference, which took place on 10th-12th April at the Medical University of Gdańsk. The anniversary edition of the event aimed to highlight the importance of scientific development for modern medicine.
During the three intensive days of the conference, 16 scientific sessions were held, including a plenary session during which the assembled guests could once again hear the top 5 speeches. In addition, there was a panel discussion on ‘Legacy in Action – 30 years of ISSC’, with speakers including Prof. Jacek Witkowski, Jarosław Meyer-Szary, M.D., Ph.D., *Prof. Miłosz Jaguszewski, Paulina Kobiela, M.D., Ph.D., Szymon Zdanowski, M.D. and Shraddha Singh, M.D. – i.e. the people who have created and supported the ISSC for the past 30 editions.
The event attracted as many as 127 active participants and 92 passive participants, who could also attend 16 workshops and 2 lectures by special guests. Dr Colli, who travelled to the conference from the University of Milan, gave a lecture entitled ‘Why is a multimodal approach important for understanding psychopathology?’ and Prof. Hoffman-Zacharska from the University of Warsaw who delivered a lecture entitled ‘Precision and personalised – genomic driven medicine.’
This year’s edition was not only another scientific conference, but also an opportunity to exchange memories and reflections on previous editions. Patrons of the event were PZU Zdrowie, EveryGene, Medycyna Praktyczna, AMBOSS, Dr Cichobieg and Kangoomed.
