The Conference is addressed to medical universities, regulatory bodies in the area of science and higher education as well as healthcare system, management staff at healthcare institutions, researchers and practitioners in the area of public health, and to all interested representatives of medical professions and medical students.
In view of the fact that: there is a total shortage of 6.4-10 million medics in 132 countries around the world; the deficit of doctors and nurses affects very many European countries regardless of their level of economic development; and Poland is among the top countries of origin of foreign doctors and nurses working in other countries with an annual emigration of doctors of about 900; we consider it important to approach the subject of the shortage of medical staff in Poland and the employment of foreign medical graduates in the context of the situation in the medical labor market in European and global terms. This is justified both by the European and global recruitment of new medical students by Polish universities, and by the propensity of foreign medical graduates from Polish universities to take up jobs in many different countries around the world.
The aim of the conference is to discuss the situation of foreign medical graduates in the medical labor market in Poland in the context of the needs and obstacles to hiring medics from outside Poland, as well as in the context of the shortage of medical personnel in Poland, Europe and globally.
Therefore, we invite experts, specialists in various fields, who have competence and experience in the areas of health policy making, health care employment structure, law and practice in the field of recognition of medical education and monitoring the development of professional competence of medical personnel, as well as in the field of medical personnel training, to actively participate in the Conference.
