Prof. Maria Mazurkiewicz-Bełdzińska has received the "Wizjoner Zdrowia" Award

Prof. Maria Mazurkiewicz-Bełdzińska, head of the Department of Developmental Neurology at the Medical University of Gdańsk, head of the Department of Developmental Neurology at UCC and president of the Polish Society of Paediatric Neurologists, received the Main Award “Wizjoner Zdrowia” during the “Wizjonerzy Zdrowia. Reformatorzy 2024 WPROST and NewsMed” event that took place on the 25th of November in Warsaw. Prof. Mazurkiewicz-Bełdzińska was honoured for her significant contribution to paediatric neurology, especially for children suffering from rare neurological diseases, including SM and epilepsy.

“I am glad that paediatric neurology has found its place in modern medicine. We are currently witnessing breakthrough therapies. I can promise that we will not stop at just one disease to treat,” said Prof. Mazurkiewicz-Bełdzińska, receiving her award.

The “Wizjonerzy Zdrowia. Reformatorzy” are awards given for people who have the courage to look into the future, plan and implement changes in medicine and the health care system. Awards were also given to representatives of patient communities and the media.
