Yimer Mekonnen Kasse, a Ph.D. student from Ghent University, has become one of the laureates of the third edition of the Daniel Fahrenheit Scholarship Programme for international Ph.D. students. At the beginning of 2025, he will start an internship at the Medical University of Gdańsk, continuing his research as part of his doctoral dissertation. The aim of his research is the sustainable removal of antiparasitic agents, which are emerging environmental pollutants causing significant concern.
The competition was open to scientists preparing their doctoral dissertations at foreign universities, who are authors or co-authors of scientific publications and want to pursue their scientific interests at one of the Fahrenheit Universities. The winners are entitled not only to a scholarship at PLN 6,500 net per month for the entire duration of their stay, but also to free accommodation.
Along with him, Gilvana Pereira Siqueira from Brazil will start an internship at Gdańsk University of Technology and Nathalia Pavan from Universidade Estadual Paulista at the University of Gdańsk.
