A national consultant for neurology was appointed

Prof. Bartosz Karaszewski

Professor Bartosz Karaszewski, Head of the Department of Neurology, Division of Adult Neurology and the Brain Diseases Centre of the MUG was appointed on 17 July 2024 by Izabela Leszczyna, Minister of Health, as a national consultant for neurology for five years.

The tasks of national consultants include initiating and evaluating national epidemiological studies and forecasting health needs in specific fields. They also have an advisory function in matters related to implementing tasks arising from the National Health Programme and other health programmes. They also give opinions on applications to refer patients for treatment or diagnostic tests outside Poland, as well as on tasks performed by the Centre for Medical Examinations, the Centre for Postgraduate Education of Nurses and Midwives, and the Centre for Postgraduate Medical Education.
