Social campaign "Health in Harmony"

On March 16, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., MUG’s students will promote the social campaign Health in Harmony and talk to the Tricity inhabitants in a special MUG zone in the Forum Center (Targ Sienny 7, Gdańsk). The main goal of the project is to reach society to encourage its members to consciously take care of their mental and physical health and engage in preventative healthcare. MUG’s students will also invite people to the zone and share knowledge during a quiz developed by MUG’s students and the project’s supervisor Paulina Piechowiak from the Division of Clinical Psychology of the MUG.

The organizers are representatives of the Student Government of the MUG Martyna Komorniczak, Wiktoria Ziembakowska, Monika Probst and MUG’s students Inga Rozumowicz, Joanna Adamczyk, Iga Wawrzyniak in cooperation with the FOSA Foundation and the Forum Center, the event’s partners. The action is held under the institutional patronage of the Medical University of Gdańsk and the honorary patronage of the President of Gdańsk Aleksandra Dulkiewicz.

Additionally, on March 11, 2024, an information campaign will be launched on social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube) conducted by the event organizers. They prepared some interesting facts related to the topic of the campaign:

• in Poland, 40% of people experience mental health problems during their lives;
• depression is the fourth most common cause of disease;
• suicide is the second most common cause of death among people aged 15-29;
• according to the World Health Organization (WHO), mental health problems affect 1 billion people worldwide;
• regular exercise can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes by 58%;
• in the case of breast cancer, early detection increases the chance of cure by up to 90%;
• in the case of colorectal cancer, early detection increases the chance of cure by up to 95%.

Participation in the event is free of charge. Everyone can come with friends and family.
