The Student Scientific Society of the Medical University of Gdańsk is the organiser of the 29th edition of the International Student Scientific Conference (ISSC), which will be held on April 11-13, 2024 at the Medical University of Gdańsk. The primary objective is to offer a forum for young scientists to present their research, share their findings with a global audience, and partake in invaluable learning experiences alongside renowned professionals in an international setting. This will be the 29th edition.

The conference includes lectures, student sessions, and workshops focusing on the possibilities of artificial intelligence and virtual reality in health care. Participants also have the opportunity to present their research, systematic reviews, meta-analyses or participate in poster competitions. The theme of this edition is Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare.

The conference comprises various panels, not necessarily focused on AI, and spanning a wide range of medical fields: including internal medicine, pharmacology, pediatrics, surgery, public health, orthopedics, dermatology, gynecology, dentistry, nursing, modern medical techniques, and sports medicine.

In collaboration with multiple scientific circles of the MUG and institutions like the Gdańsk University of Technology, a myriad of workshops are offered. Participants will have an opportunity to take part in workshop topics ranging from hands-on clinical, surgical, lab diagnostic and public speaking skills to honing soft skills like having conversations on sensitive topics such as inclusivity in healthcare.
