This is a very great honor for me as a clinician looking for effective therapy in the treatment of Hodgkin’s lymphoma. It is worth noting that despite the usually good results of treatment of Hodgkin’s lymphoma, some patients are overtreated, which results in unnecessary toxicity, while other patients do not respond to treatment and require its intensification – said Prof. Jan Maciej Zaucha, Head of the Department of Haematology & Transplantology of the MUG.

The award winner is implementing two projects at our University co-financed by MRA for a total amount of almost PLN 37 million. There are projects RAFTING-2019 (Radiation-free therapy for the initial treatment of good prognosis early non-bulky HL, defined by a low metabolic tumor volume and a negative interim PET after 2 chemotherapy cycles) and N-BURGUND (Use of nivolumab (N) followed by chemotherapy: bendamustine, gemcitabine and dexamethasone-BGD with autologous bone marrow transplantation in patients with Hodgkin’s lymphoma refractory to 1-line treatment).
