White Coat Ceremony is behind us

Students of the Medical University of Gdańsk on 14th of October 2023 celebrated their White Coat Ceremony – a milestone, signifying the transition of future doctors from classrooms to clinics. The event took place under the leadership of AMSA president Alejandra Vivas and with the support of Vice-Rector for Development and Education Prof. Jacek Bigda, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs Dr. Habil. Tomasz Smiatacz, as well as Deputy Deans of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Paweł Zagożdżon and Dr. Habil. Kamil Chwojnicki.

The speeches have been given by Janusz Springer, M.D. from the Division of Preventive Medicine & Education, Jacek Kaczmarek, Ph.D., representative of MUG Alumni Association, Katarzyna Rückemann-Dziurdzińska, Ph.D., from the Division of Pathology and Experimental Rheumatology, supervisor of 3rd year medical – ED students and Marzena Kołtoniak from the Welcome Point – Foreign Students and Employees Support Centre. Students received their white coats, marking their entry into clinical training. Exceptional students were recognized with Lead the Way Awards, highlighting their outstanding dedication to the student community. A performance students music band honoured the ceremony.

The event has been organized by MUG’s medical–ED students led by Alejandra Vivas, Ritu Chhabria, Irene Kotwa, Harshita Kaushik, Kanak Ohylan, Abhishek Singla, Jerome Joseph, Reuel Thomas, and Abi Kimber.
