In agreement with the University Student Council, a new function has been established within the University’s structures – the Students’ Trustee. Their tasks include bringing the student community closer to the ethical principles and practices of the University, taking initiatives to improve communication in the student-university relationship, as well as promoting knowledge of the values, rights, and freedoms close to our community.
By decision of the student community, the functions of the Students’ Trustee will be carried out by:
Joanna Jassem-Bobowicz, Ph.D. – Assistant Professor at the Division of Neonatology of the MUG, a specialist in neonatology. During her studies, she studied for one year at the University of Perugia as part of the Erasmus student exchange programme. In the past, she has supervised the Student Scientific Circle and has been an instructor of the NLS course of the European Resuscitation Council on several occasions. She is among the academic teachers best rated by students. Privately, she is passionate about skiing and winter swimming in the Baltic Sea.
Weronika Ciećko, Ph.D. – Assistant Professor at the Center for Competence Development, Integrated Care and e-Health at the MUG. She completed her bachelor’s degree in electroradiology and her master’s degree in public health. She also obtained a master’s degree in economics from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk. For the last 3 years, she has been the supervisor of the 3rd year in the course of public health – health system management. Co-founder of the SKN Economics and Management in Health Care. For several years, she has been cooperating with the Polish Pharmacoeconomics Society and participating in the work of the eHealth working group at PTFe. Main areas of interest include: health economics, VBHC, pharmacoeconomics and aspects of quality of life assessment.
Dr. Habil. Anna Paprocka-Lipińska – Head of the Division of Medical Ethics at the MUG, specialist in anaesthesiology and intensive care and emergency medicine. Her interest in the history of medicine resulted in her obtaining the degree of Doctor of Humanities conferred by the Scientific Council of the Ludwik and Aleksander Birkenmajer Institute of the History of Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences in 2019. He currently combines teaching and scientific challenges with clinical work. Her main scientific interests are: history of medicine, with particular emphasis on the history of ethics and professional deontology, and contemporary challenges in medical ethics.
Adrian Stefański, Ph.D. – Assistant Professor at the Division of Preventive Medicine & Education at the MUG, a specialist in internal medicine and hypertensiology, in the course of specialisation in diabetology. During his studies, he participated with a commitment to the scientific life of the University. He was a member of student scientific societies, including the chairman of SKN at the Department of Oncology and Radiotherapy. He shares his passion for science and clinical experience with students by teaching Polish and English Division since 2011.
Damian Szczesny, Ph.D. – Officer for Quality and Didactic Methods, pharmacist. He completed his Ph.D. in the Department of Biopharmacy and Pharmacodynamics under the supervision of Professor Roman Kaliszan. During this, he completed a one-year internship at Ohio University in Athens (USA). He was initially employed at the Tri-City Academic Experimental Animal Laboratory – Research and Service Centre, then as an eLearning project specialist at the Centre for Competence Development, Integrated Care, and eHealth. He did his teaching work in the Department of Biopharmacy and Pharmacodynamics and the Department of Toxicology. He was a supervisor of the SKN at the Department of Biopharmacy and Pharmacodynamics and of Master of Pharmacy students. Outside of work, he enjoys reading – from fantasy to reportage, walking, and running – the longer the better.
The nominations were presented during the inauguration ceremony of the 2023/2024 academic year by Rector Prof. Marcin Gruchała and Aleksandra Drzycimska, President of the University Student Council.
