Professor Dziadziuszko is the winner of the James D. Cox award

Head of the Department of Oncology & Radiotherapy of the Medical University of Gdańsk Prof. Rafał Dziadziuszko received the James D. Cox award for his services in the field of lung cancer radiotherapy. International jury chaired by Prof. Andrea Bezjak from the Princess Margaret Cancer Center in Toronto, Canada, recognized the Professor for his participation in the development of radiotherapy, special achievements in global clinical research on lung cancer and participation in pre- and post-graduate education in Poland and Europe.

The award ceremony took place on 10th of September 2023, during the plenary session of the World Conference on Lung Cancer 2023 in Singapore, during which Prof. Rafał Dziadziuszko presented Polish achievements in the field of radiotherapy against the background of the scientific challenges of diagnosis and treatment of this most common cancer in our country. The award is given to the most outstanding experts in the field of radiotherapy of thoracic cancer in memory of prof. James D. Cox, a world-famous scientist and doctor, who for many years headed the Radiotherapy Clinic at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, USA.
