The journal of the Institute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine in Gdynia entitled International Maritime Health (IMH) has been listed in the Journal Citation Reports and for the first time received a citation index (IF) of 2.2 points for the year 2022, based on evaluation data indexed in Web of Science.
IMH is the quarterly journal of IMMiT GUMed, published since 1949. Since 1999, IMH has been published exclusively in English. The editor-in-chief from 1998 to 2012 was Prof. Bogdan Jaremin, followed by Maria Jeżewska, Ph.D. from theDivision of Occupational, Metabolic and Internal Diseases from 2012 to 2022. This role is currently held by Marta Grubman-Nowak, Ph.D. from the same unit.
The editorial committee is composed of scientists from 31 countries, including experts from the Medical University of Gdańsk: Prof. Jacek Kot – Head of the Division of Hyperbaric Medicine & Maritime Rescue, Prof. Krzysztof Korzeniewski from the Division of Tropical Medicine & Epidemiology, Prof. Marcin Renke – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences with the Institute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine, Head of the Division of Occupational, Metabolic and Internal Diseases, Prof. Przemysław Rutkowski – Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences with the Institute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine, and Prof. Paweł Zagożdżon – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Head of the Division of Hygiene & Epidemiology.

Journal Performance Data for International Maritime Health (367 KB)International Maritime Health is an international interdisciplinary journal devoted mainly to research in maritime medicine. The quarterly journal publishes articles on occupational medicine, marine and tropical medicine, telemedicine, hyperbaric and diving medicine, and travel medicine. Research on military medicine, marine, and occupational psychology, health promotion at sea, travel, and tropical environments is also presented.
Since 2009, the publication has received a new layout and is now published as an open-access journal. The IMH publishes original papers, review papers, and case reports, but also letters to the editor, book reviews, and editorials. All articles are submitted to IMH online via an electronic submission system. The journal is published four times a year (first issue no later than 31 March, second issue no later than 30 June, third issue no later than 30 September, fourth issue no later than 31 December).
IMH is also included in the register of journals and materials of international conferences published by the Ministry of Education and Science in 2021 with an assigned number of 40 points.
International Maritime Health is indexed in: Index Medicus/Medline, PubMed, Elsevier, Embase, Safety and Health at Work, ILO CIS Bulletin, Polish medical bibliography, Index Copernicus, DOAJ – open access journal catalogue, and Crossref.
