Prof. Szurowska became President of the Polish Medical Society of Radiology

During the General Meeting of Delegates, the Polish Medical Society of Radiology (PLTR) elected the authorities for the 2023-2025 term. The President of PLTR became Prof. Edyta Szurowska, Vice-Rector for Clinical Affairs of the Medical University of Gdańsk in terms 2016-2020 and 2020-2024, Head of the 2nd Division of Radiology of the Medical University of Gdańsk and the Department of Radiology of the UCC. Professor Szurowska is also the Chairwoman of the Pomeranian Branch of PLTR, the Committee for Clinical Hospitals at the Conference of Rectors of Academic Medical Universities (KRAUM) and the Senate Committee for Clinical Affairs of the MUG.

The Professor’s main scientific interests focus on: neuroradiology, gastroenterological and oncological radiology, lung cancer screening, correlation radiological and pathological and artificial intelligence in radiology. For her work, she was honored with: the Silver Cross of Merit (2013), the Badge “For Merits for Healthcare” (2015), the Golden Cross of Merit (2020) and the Medal of the 100th Anniversary of the Gdańsk Scientific Society (2022). In 2023, she was recognized by the editors of Rynek Zdrowia as one of the 50 most influential women in health care.

The Polish Medical Society of Radiology has existed since 1925. Its goal is to develop and promote Polish radiology, inspire its members to creative scientific work and constantly improve their professional qualifications, and to use new scientific achievements in practice.
