– The profession of a midwife is mostly associated with a person who mainly focuses on delivering babies or caring for a pregnant woman, but it is a much broader profession and concerns caring for a woman at every stage of life – said Wanda Kwiatkowska, President of the SSC Przyszłe Położne. – This is an amazing honor for us. The enormity of work that we have put in over these 3 years has been distinguished in a way that is extremely important to us. We are very proud and happy about it. We would like to thank all the students who make up this Circle, as well as our supervisor Anna Szablewska, Ph.D. for her great work, motivation, coordination and for all the work that we carry out as our Circle.
– This title gives us further motivation to act and will allow us to continue our activities – emphasized Dominika Rabant from SSC Przyszłe Położne. – We plan to develop further, because the health of young women whom we try to educate is very important to us. We want as many people as possible to have access to reliable information that we provide.
SSC Przyszłe Położne was awarded for its rich educational and popular science activities. The details of these activities are presented by the President, Wanda Kwiatkowska, in the following Polish-language video.
On behalf of the MUG authorities, the members of the best student science club in Pomerania were congratulated by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Habil. Tomasz Smiatacz, a member of the competition jury.
– University is a place where extraordinary people meet. At the medical university, they are very ethical, well-motivated people who are willing to help others. Undoubtedly, these are the qualities of the ladies who won this year’s competition. We are extremely proud of them. The students redefine the place of the midwife in the life of each of us – said Dr. Habil. Tomasz Smiatacz, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs. – At the MUG, we attach great importance to cooperation, in accordance with the idea of the Statute of the Red Rose Association, from generation to generation, older colleagues support younger ones in shaping attitudes, interests and ambitions.
By decision of the jury, the best student of Pomerania turned out to be Oskar Formella from the Gdansk University of Physical Education and Sport, who received a car as a prize. The representative of the MUG in this category was Wojciech Nazar, 5th year medical student. The Red Rose Competition has been held intermittently since 1962, and its final is organized at the home university of the winner of the previous edition.
