The 4th Student Conference on Palliative Medicine, organised by the SKN Oncology and Radiotherapy, was held on 29 April 2023 at the Medical University of Gdańsk under the honorary patronage of the University’s Rector, Prof. Marcin Gruchała.
During the event, participants had the opportunity to listen to lectures by Prof. Jacek Jassem from the Department of Oncology and Radiotherapy, who talked about Evidence-Based Medicine, Prof. Ewa Bień from the Department of Paediatrics, Haematology, and Oncology, who gave an insight into the survival of children with cancer, and Leszek Pawłowski, Ph.D. from the Department of Palliative Medicine, who presented the legal aspects of providing information to patients and their families.

The second part of the Conference also featured a competition of student papers. The first place in the Case Report session was won by Paweł Siuciak, a fourth-year medical student of the MUG, while the winner of the Review paper session was Zofia Olszewska, a fourth-year law student at the University of Warsaw
The organisational committee of the event comprised students: Natalia Bruska, Andrzej Bilyk, Małgorzata Cherek, Michał Dąbrowski, Maciej Pancewicz, Stanisław Wardecki, and Joanna Zajączkowska, together with their lecturers: Prof. Jacek Jassem, Prof. Ewa Bień, and members of the student thesis competition jury: Prof. Wojciech Leppert, Konrad Gądek, M.D. and Małgorzata Styczewska, M.D..
