The Student Scientific Society is organising the next lecture in its Lectures with STN series. The speaker will be Prof Michel Burnier from Lausanne University Hospital, who will give a lecture entitled The future of medical research – a personal view. The meeting will take place on 10 May at 16:00 in the Prof Kieturakis Auditorium (CMI).
Professor Michel Burnier is a specialist in nephrology and hypertension. He is affiliated with the University Hospital of Lausanne and is employed as a professor in the Division of Hypertension & Diabetology at the MUG. Editor-in-chief of the journal Blood Pressure. The former treasurer of the European Society of Hypertension (ESH) and currently treasurer of the ESH Foundation.
The Professor’s main research topics are renal physiology and the role of the kidney in the development of hypertension and cardiovascular complications, drug testing (ACE inhibitors and angiotensin receptor antagonists, endothelin antagonists) for the treatment of hypertension and renal disease.
