We know the representatives of the University in the "Red Rose" competition

22.03.2023

The University Committee chaired by Dr. Habil. Tomasz Smiatacz, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, on 21st of March 2023 chose the best student and the best scientific circle in the university preliminaries of the Red Rose Award competition. The meeting was held in a hybrid form. Wojciech Nazar (5th year medical student) triumphed in the category best student, while in the category best scientific club won the SKN Przyszłe Położne (SSC Future Midwives) represented by Wanda Kwiatkowska. The supervisor of the winning Circle is Anna Szablewska, Ph.D. from the Division of Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing of the MUG.

Due to formal irregularities and oversight on the part of the Office for Student’s Affairs, it was necessary to change the representative in the individual category. The originally chosen Wanda Kwiatkowska cannot represent the MUG due to §2 section 3 of the Regulations of the Red Rose Competition 2023 for the best student and scientific circle of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Therefore, she remains a representative of the winning SKN _Przyszłe Położne, while Wojciech Nazar will take part in the competition for the title of the best student, who was ranked next by the jury’s decision. We apologize for any discrepancies and wish good luck to our representatives in this year’s competition_ – says Dr. Habil. Tomasz Smiatacz, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs.

Tomasz Smiatacz, prorektor ds. studenckich.

For the title of the best student competed:

  • dr Wojciech Nazar (5th year of medical studies),
  • Wanda Kwiatkowska (3rd year of midwifery 1st degree),
  • Michał Bystram, B.Sc. (2nd year of public health 2nd degree),
  • Natalia Kempa (6th year of medical-dental studies).

  • SKN Przyszłe Położne (SSC Future Midwives) at the Division of Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing represented by Wanda Kwiatkowska.

The environmental stage of the competition will take place at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, where on 16th of May 2023 candidates will publicly present themselves before the Competition Jury. The announcement of the results and the awarding of prizes will take place on 21st of May during the official gala.
