Doctors and habilitated doctors of medical sciences, health sciences and pharmaceutical sciences of the academic year 2021/2022 received their diplomas on 13th of January 2023 at the Artus Court. The ceremony was attended by: Rector of the MUG Prof. Marcin Gruchała, Vice-Rector for Quality of Teaching Dr. Habil. Agnieszka Zimmermann, Assoc. Prof., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Radosław Owczuk, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences with IMMiT Prof. Przemysław Rutkowski, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Wojciech Kamysz. Also, present were: Prof. Alicja Dębska-Ślizień, chairwoman of the Scientific Council of Medical Sciences of our University, Prof. Jędrzej Antosiewicz, chairman of the Scientific Council of Health Sciences and Prof. Wiesław Sawicki, chairman of the Scientific Council of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Moreover, the event was attended by 35 promoters from the Faculty of Medicine, 4 promoters from the Faculty of Health Sciences with IMMiT and 3 promoters from the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The ceremony began with the welcome of the promotional team, supervisors, postdoctoral candidates, doctoral students and guests. In accordance with the 16th-century tradition of the Artus Court, a felucca was lit in honor of the guests. After the Rector’s speech, a ceremonial awarding of diplomas of habilitated doctor took place.
The Chairwoman of the Scientific Council of Medical Sciences presented 8 diplomas of habilitated doctor of medical sciences to habilitants: Natalia Buda, Zbigniew Heleniak, Jacek Jasiecki, Tomasz Marjański, Grażyna Moszkowska, Agnieszka Piekarska, Tomasz Stokowy oraz Katarzyna Sznurkowska. The Chairman of the Scientific Council of Health Sciences presented the diplomas of habilitated doctor of health sciences to habilitants Aneta Słabuszewska-Jóźwiak oraz Wojciech Waldman, while the Chairman of the Scientific Council of Pharmaceutical Sciences presented diplomas of habilitated doctor of pharmaceutical sciences to habilitants: Katarzyna Greber and Justyna Stefanowicz-Hajduk.
Another part of the ceremony was the promotion to the doctoral degree. 52 doctoral students of medical sciences were promoted by Prof. Alicja Dębska-Ślizień, 7 doctoral students of health sciences – by Prof. Jędrzej Antosiewicz, while 6 doctoral students of pharmaceutical sciences – by Prof. Wiesław Sawicki.
At the end, Rector Prof. Marcin Gruchała congratulated the new doctors and habilitated doctors, wishing them further success in their scientific achievements and thanked everyone for coming. The musical setting was provided by the Choir of the Medical University of Gdańsk under the direction of Błażej Połom, Ph.D.
