In the historic interiors of the Artus Court, diplomas of habilitated doctor in medical sciences, health sciences and pharmaceutical sciences were awarded, and promotion to the degree of doctor in medical sciences, health sciences and pharmaceutical sciences was held. At a ceremony organized on 29th of November 2022, attended by: Rector Prof. Marcin Gruchała, Vice-Rector for Science Prof. Michał Markuszewski, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Radosław Owczuk, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Wojciech Kamysz and the Dean of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG & MUG Dr. Habil. Ewelina Król, UG Professor. Present were also the chairmen of the scientific disciplines councils at our University: Prof. Alicja Dębska-Ślizień, chairwoman of the Council of Medical Sciences, prof. Jędrzej Antosiewicz, chairman of the Scientific Council of Health Sciences and Prof. Wiesław Sawicki, chairman of the Scientific Council of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Moreover, the event was attended by 18 promoters from the Faculty of Medicine, 2 from the Faculty of Health Sciences with IMMiT and 5 promoters from the Faculty of Pharmacy.
In accordance with the 16th-century tradition of the Artus Court, a felucca was lit in honor of the guests. The ceremony began with the welcome of the promotional team, supervisors, postdoctoral candidates, doctoral students and guests. After the Rector’s speech, a ceremonial awarding of diplomas of habilitated doctor took place. The Chairwoman of the Scientific Council of Medical Sciences awarded postdoctoral diplomas to 11 habilitants: Michał Brzeziński, Maciej Grzybek, Magdalena Grzybowska, Dariusz Jagielak, Jarosław Jendrzejewski, Barbara Kutryb-Zając, Agnieszka Mickiewicz, Jakub Mieczkowski, Anna Ronowska, Tomasz Szmuda and Wojciech Wołyniec. The Chairman of the Scientific Council of Pharmaceutical Sciences presented the diploma of habilitated doctor of health sciences to habilitants: Ewelina Dziurkowska, Natalia Miękus-Purwin and Małgorzata Paduszyńska. Another part of the ceremony was the promotion to the doctoral degree. The promotion of 30 doctoral students of medical sciences was carried out by Prof. Alicja Dębska-Ślizień, 4 doctoral students in health sciences – by Prof. Jędrzej Antosiewicz, while 11 doctoral students of pharmaceutical sciences – by Prof. Wiesław Sawicki. At the end, Rector Prof. Marcin Gruchała congratulated the new doctors and habilitated doctors, wished them further success in their scientific achievements, and thanked everyone for coming. The musical setting was provided by the Choir of the Medical University of Gdańsk under the direction of Błażej Połom, Ph.D.
