The heat in the radiators in Tri-City is generated by the local gas-fired power plants. The gas prices are still rising and, as it turns out, in the long run, it’s not as ecological as once seemed. In theory, when burning gas, the emission of carbon dioxide is much lower than when burning coal. However, the main component of the gas is methane, which, during extraction or transport, leaks into the atmosphere, being also largely responsible for global warming.
