Conference "War in Ukraine and Public Health"

The Division of Public Health & Social Medicine of the Medical Univeristy of Gdańsk the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER) are organising a conference on the war in Ukraine and public health, which will be held on 20 May, 2022 in an online format on the ZOOM platform. The event will be broadcasted on the YouTube channel of the MUG.

The event will include a series of discussion panels and workshops. The invited guests are experts with many years of experience in their fields (members of the ASPHER Task Force for War and scientists from partner universities). The meeting will be attended by MUG specialists: Vice-Rector for the Quality of Teaching, Dr. Habil. Agnieszka Zimmermann, Pharm.D., Assoc. Prof. and from the Division of Public Health & Social Medicine, heading the Unit, Dr. Habil. Łukasz Balwicki, Assoc. Prof. and Olga Kalinowska-Beszczyńska, Ph.D. The workshops which will finish the conference will not be broadcasted.

The main topic of the event will be issues related to the impact of war on public health, as well as the needs of public health in Ukraine and in other European countries and the world. Additionally, the needs for the adaptation of public health curricula and the possibilities of schools to respond to the existing situation will be discussed. All sessions will be held in English only.
