The Division of Medical Rescue of the Medical University of Gdańsk has gained a new face. Its opening ceremony took place on 4 April 2022 in the newly renovated space of building No. 15. The event was attended by the Rector of the MUG Prof. Marcin Gruchała, the Head of the Division, Prof. Andrzej Basiński, the national consultant in emergency medicine, Prof. Jerzy Robert Ładny and Prof. Adam Nogalski, the President of the Polish Society of Emergency Medicine.

Professor Marcin Gruchała emphasized the high importance of emergency medicine in the functioning of the National Medical Rescue Service, while Professor Jerzy Robert Ładny spoke about the importance of medical rescue facilities in the integrated system of paramedic training. Prof. Andrzej Basiński, in turn, drew attention to the training of future paramedics in tactical medicine, indicating its importance and possible usefulness of skills acquired by students, especially today.
– Due to the fact that events occur unexpectedly on the battlefield, the tactical rescue system focuses on providing quick and effective help to the injured person, and then evacuating them from the place of danger – explained Prof. Basiński.
The meeting was also attended by other representatives of the MUG and guests from outside the University: Prof. Dorota Zyśko, Prof. Krystyn Sosada, Prof. Cezary Pakulski, Prof. Katarzyna Zorena, Dr. Habil. Marzena Wojewódzka-Żeleźniakowicz, Dr. Habil. Wojciech Żurawiński, Grzegorz Michalak Ph.D., Daniel Ślęzak Ph.D., Piotr Robakowski M.A. , Rafał Szczepański M.A. and Katarzyna Stachowska.
