Prof. Janusz Limon, retired Head of the Department of Biology and Medical Genetics of the MUG, received the Golden OTIS (Złoty OTIS) award in the category for the achievements of life in medicine. The scientist is a specialist in the field of clinical genetics, whose achievements in diagnostics are used on a daily basis by genetic laboratories in Poland and around the world. He is currently involved in work on ethics in research.
Karol Steckiewicz, Ph.D., assistant of the Division of Anaesthesiology & Intensive Care was awarded in the category debuts in medicine. The young scientist in his work focuses on the use of micro- and nanoparticles in medicine. Last year, as the third person in Poland and the first at our University, he defended his doctoral thesis being still a student: //gumed.edu.pl/63380.html. The doctoral supervisor was Prof. Iwona Inkielewicz-Stępniak, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Pathophysiology.
The Złoty OTIS Confidence Awards are community honors awarded by the medical journal Świat Lekarza since 2004 for special achievements in medicine. Winners are selected by a committee composed of representatives of science and medicine as well as representatives of patient organizations and the pharmaceutical industry.
