Head of the Division of Neurological and Psychiatric Nursing of the Medical University of Gdańsk, Prof. Jarosław Sławek joined the newly created National Council for Neurology appointed by the Minister of Health, Adam Niedzielski. The MUG’s scientist is the only representative of Pomerania in the ministerial panel of experts.
The National Council for Neurology will manage the process of modernizing Polish neurology. The opinions presented by her will become the basis for the creation of appropriate regulations to improve the availability of diagnosis and therapy and to improve the quality of care for people with neurological diseases. The greatest emphasis will be placed on ailments such as: neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases and multiple sclerosis), strokes and epilepsy. The Council, in cooperation with national scientific societies, developed and disseminated standards of medical treatment in the field of neurological diseases and prepared recommendations for the use of innovative technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of such diseases.
