In solidarity with Ukraine – NAWA support

Program of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) for Ukrainian citizens who do not know the Polish language sufficiently to enable them to study full-time studies in Polish. For Ukrainian citizens who will study medical studies in English, NAWA, at the request of the Ministers of Health, Education and Science, has prepared a program aimed at, among others, co-financing of the costs of education during studies in English up to the amount of PLN 18 000 PLN per semester. The remaining part of the tuition fee is borne by the student himself.

The Agency, commissioned by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Health, undertakes activities thanks to which Ukrainian refugees (students and doctoral students) will have the opportunity to study in Poland, conduct work related to the preparation of a doctoral dissertation or participate in other forms of education (language or preparatory courses) in the period from March to September 2022. In addition to the exemption from tuition fees, participants will be paid a scholarship.

NAWA on 15th March 2022 opened recruitment for the In solidarity with Ukraine (Solidarni z Ukrainą) program for universities supervised by the Ministry of Education and Science or the Ministry of Health, institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences / institutes of the Łukasiewicz network / research institutes that are ready to accept Ukrainian refugees, providing them with the opportunity to continue their studies, prepare a doctoral dissertation, take language or other courses free of charge preparatory courses in the period from March 1 to September 30, 2022. Participants may be admitted at any time, but until the end of September 2022. The financial resources allocated to the implementation of the “Solidarni with Ukraine” program will allow for co-financing of approximately 1 320 scholarship holders.

In case of universities subordinated to the Ministry of Health, only students currently studying in Ukraine can benefit from NAWA assistance. In this situation, the regulations of the In solidarity with Ukraine program do not provide for the participation of doctoral students in the program.

Detailed assumptions of the In solidarity with Ukraine program are available on the NAWA website.
