University's EIT initiatives granted by the Minister of Science and Higher Education

3.01.2022

The Minister of Science and Higher Education provided to the Medical University of Gdańsk a grant within the enterprise Wsparcie udziału w inicjatywach EIT (Support of participation in EIT initiatives) in the amount of 210 000 Euros for years 2021-2027. Our University in December 2020 joined the EIT Health – Knowledge and Innovation Community in the field of medicine and healthcare. The partnership includes also carrying activities in so-called triangle of knowledge basing on education, research and innovations creating. Currently, the MUG has a status of the Associate Partner, which enables application for grants in cooperation with international partners.

The funds granted by the Minister are intended to refinance the full amount of the contribution already paid by the University, as well as the contributions planned for the following years. In total, it will be 30 000 Euros per year for 7 years. This will enable the University to plan activities in a wider time perspective, which in the case of EIT Health projects is especially important due to the phased submission, evaluation and awarding of projects.
