The University Clinical Centre of the Medical University of Gdańsk is one of the medical institutions awarded with the Gold Medal of the University of Gdańsk Bene merito et merenti (The one who has served well and still serves). Rector of the University of Gdańsk, Prof. Piotr Stepnowski on December 16, 2021, presented awards to representatives of public health institutions that organized vaccination for students and employees of the University
On behalf of the medical services the Gold Medals Bene merito et merenti picked up:

– I feel a little stage fright because I am a graduate of the University of Gdańsk. I am all the more pleased with this award – said Director Jakub Kraszewski while picking up an award.
– I would especially like to emphasize the help of our students and young employees who participated in the vaccination campaign with great dedication and commitment and support our activities – thanked Director Adam Sudoł in behalf of hospital’s employees.
Handing out the medals, Prof. Piotr Stepnowski emphasized the enormous importance of organizing vaccination against COVID-19 and influenza during the difficult time of the pandemic. Students and employees of the University of Gdańsk could register quickly and efficiently, and then get vaccinated in points at the university and at the UCC Centre of Invasive Medicine. The Rector also emphasized the perfect organization of the campaign and the friendly atmosphere in which the vaccinations took place. He especially thanked for the organization and supervision of the smooth course of activities to Sebastian Susmarski, the university vaccination coordinator. The session of the UG Senate and the awarding of medals ended with a concert of Christmas carols performed by the University of Gdańsk Academic Choir.
