As the researchers explain, the clinical course of COVID-19 is not the same in all patients. In most infected patients, the symptoms are scanty, but in some patients the disease results in a rapid deterioration of health, requiring hospitalization – also in the conditions of an intensive care unit. Project entitled The influence of the pituitary-thyroid and pituitary-adrenal axis functions on the course of COVID-19 disease is aimed at searching for potentially significant prognostic factors and assessing abnormalities in hormonal function in patients with this disease..
