It is with deep sadness that we announce that on 22 October 2021 passed away

Prof. Dr Habil. Piotr Lass

the first Dean and founder of the Faculty of Health Sciences with the Institute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine at the Medical University of Gdańsk. Deputy Dean for Science and Staff Development of the Faculty of Health Sciences in the 2020-2024 term, and in 2002-2006, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. Since 1995, Head of the Division of Nuclear Medicine. He has been continuously associated with his Alma Mater since 1983.

In 2019, he became a member of the first term of the Council for Scientific Excellence in Medical and Health Sciences.

Outstanding specialist in the field of nuclear medicine, specializing in radioisotope studies of the central nervous system, a valued academic teacher.

Awarded with Silver and Gold Cross of Merit (2011), awarded the medal Służony AMG and Medal of National Education Commission.

The funeral will take place on 28th of October 2021 at 12:30 in the new chapel (kaplica nowa) at the Srebrzysko Cemetery (ul. Srebrniki 12, Gdańsk).
