Dorota Purzycka-Bohdan, Ph.D. from the Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology of the Medical University of Gdańsk is a laureate of the French Government’s scholarship programme Bourses du Gouvernement Français. As part of a scholarship, the scientist will do a one-month internship in the Laboratory of Human Genetics of Infectious Diseases, Imagine Institute (INSERM) in Paris, where she will continue research under the Polish-French project The human genetic basis of predisposition to skin and mucous membrane infections caused by Human Papillomavirus, headed by herself on behalf of the MUG. The project’s objective is an attempt of so-called candidate genes identification. These genes have an impact on predisposition for getting a severe, persistent or relapse skin and mucous membranes infections caused by human papillomavirus (HPV).
The French Government’s scholarship programme of internship is devoted to Polish and foreign scientists working in Polish scientific institution, who want to conduct research in France. The scholarship is addressed to all scientists, especially having their doctoral degree for less than 10 years. These grants fund and facilitate a visit in France for distinctive Polish students and researchers, which improves a dynamism of scientific exchanges between Poland and France.
