Marta Jaskulak, Eng.D. from the Division of Immunobiology and Environmental Microbiology of the Medical University of Gdańsk is among this year’s START programme’s laureates, under which the Foundation for Polish Science has awarded outstanding young scientists. The award ceremony took place on 11th of September 2021 at the FNP premises.
Marta Jaskulak, Eng.D. is a biologist and ecotoxicologist focusing mainly on aquatic and terrestrial habitat pollution problems. Currently, she is realizing a project involving transcriptomic and physiological changes in Brassica napus L. leaves during exposition on heavy metals and starts working on antibiotics resistance spreading due to long-lasting fertilization of agricultural land by sewage sludge.

The aim of programme for young scientists is to support outstanding scholars under 30 years old conducting basic, applied or development research, The Foundation for Polish Science evaluates scientists’ work documented by patents and publications and grants the best of them with one year long scholarships.
