Jubilee of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Medical University of Gdańsk

During the 15 years of existence of the Faculty of Health Sciences with the Institute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine, over 5,000 graduation diplomas have been awarded, 150 doctoral degrees, 22 habilitation degrees and 16 professorships have been conferred. This year Faculty of Helath Sciences celebrates a beautiful jubilee of its existence within the University structures and the ceremonial meeting of the Faculty Council will be held online on May 12 at 12:00 p.m.

The mission of establishing the Faculty of Health Sciences was entrusted by the then Rector Prof. Wiesław Makarewicz to Prof. Piotr Lass, then Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, responsible for undergraduate courses, especially electrodiology. The unit was established in 2006 by a resolution of the Senate of the Gdańsk Medical Academy. Currently it is one of the leading Faculties of Health Sciences in the country, which in the last scientific evaluation received a high category A.

The spectacular development of the Faculty of Health Sciences with the Institute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine is the result of the hard work of all its staff and the vision of its leaders, and undoubtedly, the good atmosphere here, the sense of common interest and cooperation also contribute to it. The Faculty is not only a structure, it is above all people.
