Student of the MUG with the Mayor of City of Gdańsk scholarship

Adrian Perdyan, 6th year medicine student at the Medical University of Gdańsk has received Mayor of the City of Gdańsk scholarship.

- I’m an active member of numer of organisations. I carry out a social activity towards oncological patients as a volunteer of Polish League Against Cancer. Moreover, I chair two student scientifical circles – the one operating at the Department of Oncology & Radiotherapy of the MUG and the second one operating at the Department of Pathomorphology of the MUG. Additionally I am a vice-president of Student Scientific Association of the MUG and member of the IFMSA-Poland in which I’m a national coordinator in the field of clinical practices for leaving students – says Adrian Perdyan about his achievements appreciated by institutions granting scholarships. – My scientifical activity is focused on the oncology, especially on colorectal cancer and lung cancer. I make oral presentations on Polish and international conferences as well as publish articles in scientifical journals (IF=14.4)

One-time scholarship of Mayor of the City of Gdańsk for outstanding scientifical achievements is granted for students who have received achievements significantly exceeding the scope of studies’ programme and who lives in Gdańsk ad works towards this city. Every person who meets the requirements set out by regulations can apply for this scholarschip as well as Student Council and Heads of organisation units of the universities. The request is considered by the committee of scholarschip ant then the Mayor of Gdańsk approves a list of laureates.

Adrian Perdyan has also been a finalist of scholarship of Stanisław Wyspiański Association. This is an award for people at age 18-26 who initiate various social activities or have scientifical, sport, artist or social and cultural achievements and their accomplishments are justified by cover letters from institutions cooperating with them. The request can be done by people interested in receiving a scholarschip or by third persons in behalf of them. The Chapter selects 10 finalists, one of whom later becomes a laureate.
