University Board was established

The Senate of the Medical University of Gdańsk has established the University Board. Among seven members of the Board are persons from the University community: Prof. Ewa Iżycka-Świeszewska, Prof. Małgorzata Sznitowska, Prof. Ryszard Smoleński, representants from outside the University community: Roman Budziński Ph.D., Paweł Orłowski M.A. and Paweł Pietkiewicz, Ph.D., as well as the Chairperson of the University Students’ Council Bartosz Fałkowski as students’ representant. Paweł Orłowski M.A. has been elected as the Chairperson of the Board. Current term of the University Board lasts from 1st January 2021 until 31st December 2024.

According to the Statute of the MUG, the University Board comprises seven members while its chairperson is a member coming from outside the community of the University. Its duties include: reviewing projects of statute and strategy, monitoring of financial economy, and method of management of the University. Moreover, the Board has the competence to appoint candidates for the Rector’s function, upon their review by the Senate. Within the frames of financial economy monitoring, the University Board: evaluates material and financial plan, chooses an auditorial company, which has to check an annual financial report of the MUG, approves a report of realization of material and financial plan and the financial report.
