APPEAL OF THE MEMBERS OF THE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF GDAŃSK SENATE CONCERNING COVID-19 VACCINE
Members of the Medical University of Gdańsk Senate would like to encourage the nation and Pomeranian community to vaccinate against COVID-19. We express our belief that once most of us shall make use of the generally available, efficient and safe vaccine we may be able to control COVID-19 pandemic quickly; pandemic that is hard for all of us and costly in the sense of the economy and society.
We recommend that all members of the MUG’s community undergo the eligibility process for the COVID-19 immunisation on the basis of the National Vaccination Programme. Being prudent and responsible, driven by the care of other human beings is the mission of professions of public trust.
Nonetheless, we do emphasize that the vaccine is completely voluntary. According to the latest clinical trials its efficiency and safety is comparable to the routine prophylactic vaccines conducted in Poland. Consequently, it is assumed that getting the vaccine will benefit the individual’s protection against SARS-CoV-2 and the academic community significant facilitation to conduct didactic activities, research as well as medical services.
