Students from Phi Delta Epsilon International Medical Fraternity donated for the Paediatric Cardiology Department, 5 Montessori inspired toddler busy boards to promote hands-on learning, basic skills and fine motor development along with a giant hopscotch floor sticker. All which are placed throughout the department and the outpatient clinics. Due to the epidemiological situation only Jarosław Meyer-Szary PhD from Department of Paediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Defects of the MUG and fifth year students of Faculty of Medicine: Faisal Al Maghlooth – chapter president of Phi Delta Epsilon and Juliana Orrego Castellanos were able to attend the revealing of the gifts.

- Phi Delta Epsilon creates physicians of integrity with a life-long commitment to our guiding principles of philanthropy, deity, and education through fellowship, service, mentoring, and formal training in leadership, science and ethics – said Faisal Al Maghlooth, chapter president – We live by our motto: Facta non verba – Deeds not words. It is a pleasure to be able to contribute to our community and especially the children. Trying to make their stay at the hospital as pleasant as possible.

The Medical Fraternity gathered donations for the Paediatric Cardiology Department by organizing annual football tournament, PhiDE kickoff for the kids. More than 10 teams joined, mainly from English Division, and competed to be the best and to show that they are not only good students and future doctors but also sportsmen/women. The tournament lasted 5 days, Rector prof. Marcin Gruchała M.D., PhD initiate the first match and Vice-Rector of student’s Affairs dr hab. Tomasz Smiatacz M.D.,PhD initiate the championship final match and to give the winning team their medals. The tournament took place in 2019.
