International publication of our PhD student

Karolina Kaźmierczak-Siedlecka, PhD student at the Department of Oncological Surgery, is the first author of a publication on disorders of the intestinal microbiome in COVID-19, which was accepted for publication in the European Review for Medical and Pharmacological Sciences (3,024 Impact Factor). The publication was created in cooperation with the University in Catania, Italy. The authors of the work are: K. Kaźmierczak-Siedlecka, E. Vitale, W. Makarewicz.

A special aspect of the publication is the part concerning the fecal transplant procedure as a potential “hidden” source of SARS-CoV-2 and the extension of the recommendations including additional screening of stool samples from donors. The full text of the publication will be available soon.
