The MUG goes up in the "Perspektywy" ranking

Once again, our University is at the forefront of Polish academic centers. According to the results of the 21st edition of the Ranking of Academic Universities of the Perspektywy Educational Foundation, the Medical University of Gdańsk ranks high 6th place, among all universities in the country, improving its position by 2 places. The MUG is the highest-rated university of Pomerania and invariably the best Polish medical university. The University performs equally well in this year’s ranking in fields of study, taking respectively 2nd place in the field of medicine, 3rd in medical analytics and pharmacy and 4th in public health. The formal gala took place on 17th of July at the Olympic Center of the Polish Olympic Committee in Warsaw. During the event, our University was represented by prof. Edyta Szurowska, Vice-Rector for Clinical Affairs of the Medical University of Gdańsk together with the MUGs Spokesperson Joanna Śliwińska Ph.D.

Awarding the best medical university

- Promotion among the best Polish universities is a great distinction and success of the Medical University of Gdańsk. For 5 years, GUMed has been in a high position among the top national academic centers, this year improving its position by two places – emphasized Vice-Rector prof. Edyta Szurowska. – This is the best proof that we are good not only in strictly medical and clinical activities, as our name indicates, but we are also a leading university in the field of science, research and teaching. I congratulate the community of the MUG on this award, because the work of employees at all levels, as well as the acheviements of our students and doctoral students have contributed to our undoubted success.

This result confirms the leading position of the Medical University of Gdańsk as a modern and recognized academic center. The university is characterized by high scientific and development potential, which includes, in particular: experienced and reputable research teams, a growing number of prestigious international publications and grants, as well as a wide range and quality of research confirmed by the high categorization of units. The MUG is also the only medical university selected to the elite group of the 10 best Polish universities awarded in the prestigious Excellence Initiative – Research University.
