Melina Davis, Chief Executive Officer & EVP Medical Society of Virginia, José Morey, M.D., Chief Medical Innovation Officer for Liberty BioSecurity, Mark Boguski, M.D., Ph.D, the Chief Medical Officer of Liberty Biosecurity LLC, Elizabeth Frank, an executive with OneDigital, Dr. Michael Czekajlo, Critical Care Physician at Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center and VCU Health System and Marcin Hańczaruk, Co-Chairman of AFI Poland Polish American Foundation visited the Medical University of Gdańsk. On October 24th they met with Prof. Marcin Gruchała, M.D., Ph.D., Rector of the MUG, Prof. Edyta Szurowska, M.D., Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Clinical Affair, Prof. Tomasz Bączek, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Science, Prof. Andrzej Basiński, M.D, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences with Institute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine, Krzysztof Basiński, Ph.D., Rector’s Plenipotentiary for International Student Exchange and Scientific Cooperation in the field of Health Psychology, Krzysztof Chlebus, M.D., Ph.D., Assistant Prof., 1st Department of CardiologyKatarzyna Waligóra-Borek, Ph.D., Acting Director of the Technology Transfer Office and Magdalena Błażek, Ph.D., D.Sc., Acting Head of the Department of Quality of Life Research

They discussed the University’s cooperation with American companies in the healthcare sector. The Rector presented the advantages and potential of the Medical University of Gdańsk. Prof. Tomasz Bączek talked about the priorities of the University as a research university. Whereas, Prof. Tomasz Stefaniak pointed out the possibilities of using the research infrastructure of the University Clinical Centre.

José Morey, M.D. presented the latest research results from Liberty BioSecurity. He spoke about close cooperation with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
