International course at the MUG

The EACTA ECHO course for cardioanesthesiologists, which took place at the Centre of Noninvasive Medicine on June 22nd-25th, has ended.
It was attended by a total of 128 participants from around the world, including Australia, India, Egypt, Israel, Trinidad and Tobago, Belarus, Great Britain, Poland and other European Union countries.
The course was divided into four segments: Basic, Advanced, Hands On and Certifiaction, which ended with an ESC (European Society of Cardiology) exam in transesophageal echocardiography. 102 people took the exam. In addition to the lecture sessions, the trainees held numerous practical classes both on volunteer models, simulators (phantoms), computers, and Wetlab (on pig hearts).
The lectures for the students were conducted by 30 lecturers from all over the world, including Poland. Twenty MUG students from both Medical Departments: Polish and English Division participated in the organization of the course.
The initiator and organizer of the EACTA ECHO 2019 GDAŃSK course on behalf of GUMed was the Department of Cardio-anesthesiology.
