The research team at our University led by dr hab. Iwona Inkielewicz-Stępniak, Pharm.D. from the Department of Medical Chemistry received a prestigious European grant MARIE SKŁODOWSKA-CURIE ACTIONS Innovative Training Networks (ITN). The consortium, whose main coordinator is the University of Erlangen, consists of 15 prestigious Universities from all over Europe, including Universita degli Studi di Verona, Umea Universitet, University of Navarra, University of Glasgow, Universiteit Leiden, Karolinska Institutet. PRECODE project: PancREatic Cancer OrganoiDs rEsearch assumes the implementation of the innovative doctoral thesis in an international research team and thus the promotion of a new generation of leading scientists in model systems and methods for the development of effective therapies for pancreatic cancer.
The aim of the MUG team’s research will be to develop a model of the interaction of pancreatic cancer organoids with platelets in the context of the metastatic process. Our team will also assess the suitability of the developed model for the study of the antineoplastic activity of medicines and screening (“screening”) of newly synthesized compounds.
