The success of MUG's young swimmers

Nearly 1000 competitors from all over Poland took part in the Polish Academic Championships in swimming at the beginning of April in Lublin.

MUG was represented by 9 players and the swimming section coaches – Joanna Stróżek, M.A., and Kamila Golon, M.A., from the Department of Physical Education and Sports. Aleksandra Stasiak, a 6th year student of medicine, took fourth place on 50 m and 100 m in classic style.

The women’s 4×50 m medley relay was ranked fourth, and Agata Biernacka, a 2nd year student of medicine, was ranked 6th in the 100 m medley swimming. Artem Iusupov, a 2nd year student of dental technics took 6th place at the distance of 50 m in breaststroke style.

At the same time, the Polish Championships in swimming in the fins in Olsztyn were also held. Helena Strachanowska, a 1st year physiotherapy student, won a bronze medal at a distance of 400 m setting her own personal record.
