UCC won the "Innovation Code" competition

The University Clinical Center (UCC), MUG’s hospital has been awarded for the use of barcodes, thanks to which the use of medical devices in patients is effectively monitored. The competition was organized by GS1 Polska. Winners were awarded during “Innovation Code” conference, which took place on November 15. The UCC has been the winner of the competition in the category of “health care” for the use of barcodes to identify medical devices. The implementation of the medical barcode identification system began at the UCC in 2015. The goal that was achieved was the assignment (in the IT system) of a specific medical device used in the patient’s treatment process – based on a global standard for tracking the movement and origin of products. Barcodes in the Hospital helps to eliminated medical errors.
